Sticky Sweet Kale Chips
I love kale, do you? These sticky kale chips are sweet and tangy all at the same time with the sweetness coming from dates and the tangy from tomato paste. Feel free to switch things up with the spices!
Sticky Sweet Kale Chips
The kale chips are not super crunchy, but rather chewy and savory sweet with a bit of tang! We love them! If you don't like tangy, you can replace the apple cider vinegar with water.
Ingredients
- 12 oz pitted medjool dates
- 4.5 ounces tomato paste
- 3 bunches of kale, destemmed and torn into large pieces
- 12 small cloves of air fried garlic (or roasted garlic)
- 2.5 cups water
- 3 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar (sub water if you don't like tangy flavors)
- 3 Tbs Lemon Juice
- 1.5 Tbs Onion Powder
- Sesame Seeds
Instructions
- Tear up your washed kale into large chunks and find the biggest bowl in your kitchen because this makes a good amount of sticky kale chips.
- Blend all of your other ingredients together into a blender until smooth
- Dump this mixture onto your kale and massage with your hands until all of the kale is coated
- Spread kale among dehydrator sheets and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if you are using. Set to 110F and dehydrate for 10 hours or until desired "doneness"
- If you don't have a dehydrator, you could potentially try cooking these in an oven, but the sugar in the dates may not work so well with this application. This is also really delicious eaten straight up as a salad, too!!
- ENJOY!
