Oil Free Chips & Salsa
Chips and salsa anyone? I can barely eat chips from a bag anymore: they are so overwhelming to my taste buds and body with all of the salt and oil! Try these recipes for a healthy delicious version of one of the best snacks aside from fruit and baked potatoes, of course
Oil Free Chips & Summer Salsa
Ingredients
Salsa
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- Salt if desired
- 4 cloves garlic
- 3 small onion
- 1 bunch cilantro
- I bunch green onion
- 2 tbs cumin seed
- 2 jalapeno
- 5 lbs tomatoes
Chips
- Favorite tortillas
- Lime juice
- Ground coriander, cumin, garlic, favorite spices (optional but adds a great kick of flavor)
Instructions
Salsa
- Place all ingredients other than tomatoes in food processor and pulse until well combined. Add tomatoes and pulse until all ingredients are blended but not completely smooth. Enjoy with your favorite chips, on baked potatoes, on salads, you name it!
Chips
- Stack tortillas and cut in a cross pattern, then an X and you'll have 8 pieces per tortilla. Lay all the pieces onto a baking sheet and spray with lime juice then sprinkle with ground coriander or salt if you desire. Bake at 350 F until the tortillas are crunchy enough to use as chips! Typically 10- 20 minutes.
