How to Start Living Low-Tox

Living low-tox has been a goal of mine for the past few years - only recently would I say I’ve successfully adapted! Low-tox is a lifestyle, and it’s one that takes time to adjust (don’t rush yourself, baby steps ARE okay) - but, there’s an easier way to get started without quitting cold turkey…

I actually recommend switching to the low-tox lifestyle over the course of a month, making adjustments here and there until it becomes second nature. You can follow along and get your questions answered in my free online community, The Herban Farmacy.

Of course, if you’re not sure if you’re ready to try and adjust to the low-tox lifestyle fully yet, there are a few easy ways to get started:

Tips for Living Low-Tox

I would honestly say that changing my lifestyle was better for my physical and mental health - I mean, did you know that eating plant-based can increase your energy and happiness? And that’s just ONE benefit!

Between betting your home (think low-tox eco-friendly cleaning products and home gardens) and eating clean, organic, and fresh foods, your body and brain will thank you immensely!

Still, you have to get started somewhere! So here are my top tips for getting started living low-tox:

Be prepared to make changes both big and small. Living low-tox is more than just eating leafy greens 🍃 - it's a lifestyle that's built around making better health and environmental choices daily in the most non-judgy, empowering way.

It's not about how fast you can switch. Make small changes to your lifestyle! Switch out products and try new recipes as you go. Going completely low-tox can take a week, month, or even years! You don’t always realize the dangerous chemicals and products that you’ll need to change, some are not readily available or easily affordable when you first get started!

Do your research! Just because a product claims to be 'low-tox' or 'all-natural' doesn't mean they are. Until you know exactly which products to use, carefully read through any ingredients included! The more you do it, the more you’ll become familiar with which ingredients are safe and which are not as well as what products (and even brands) are safe to shop for.

Lastly, just remember that you’re not alone in this! Changing your lifestyle is not easy - which is why created my community in the first place. I want to be easily available when you’re having a hard time or you’re not sure what the next step is! And if you’re not interested in joining a community, you can always reach out to me on Instagram @theherbanfarmacy.
